In a Word Communications
As a public relations professional, Dorsey Griffith recognized that as organizations adopt new technologies to enhance communications, they often neglect what’s most fundamental to effective communications: good writing — and, with it, the editing that ensures content is accurate, meaningful, readable and loaded for impact.
In a Word Communications provides clients with crisp content and storytelling for any outlet or platform to engage targeted audiences. With a journalist’s instinct and experience, Dorsey works to understand the client’s communications goals, conducts key interviews and research, and carefully crafts clear and concise content, whether for messaging documents, social media posts, op-eds or extensive, explanatory articles.
Dorsey also coaches writing, editing, and media relations skills for clients seeking professional development for their communications teams or other employees.
Dorsey believes that spoken words and storytelling matter, too. A veteran news reporter, writer, and media trainer, Dorsey also supports clients with message development, story-pitching strategies, and interview preparation.

Shoutouts
“Dorsey left me with so much useful advice about the writing process and how to write clearly and succinctly. I appreciate her enthusiasm for teaching and writing, and found her presentation engaging and informative. The way she used examples and pulled excerpts from our work gave me more insight into how to approach and edit my writing. I’m certain I’ll be referring back to her workshop many times. ”
“Dorsey is such a pleasure to work with and her phenomenal writing and editing expertise is evident. We retained Dorsey to conduct three tailor-made trainings: all staff, small group and one-on-one. She customized each session to meet the specific needs and desired areas of growth for our team members and brought her years of journalistic and consulting experience to the table.
Without a doubt, we would work with her again!”
“Dorsey has consistently produced deeply researched, topical articles that have helped raise the profile of our association. Her writing skills are terrific, but what has stood out is her customer service, accuracy, and thoroughness in all she delivers. Dorsey is a gifted pro, stays on top of legislation and professional trends. Not only does she meet deadlines, but she also surpasses expectations.”
